Apple launched the AirTag 2 in January. The tracker is receiving a firmware update, making it version 3.0.45. The firmware update comes with the usual unnamed bug fixes and improvements. The important upgrade is an update to the unwanted tracking feature (anti-stalking).

The unwanted tracking sound has been updated to make it easier to locate an unknown AirTag with Precision Finding.
If you’re being stalked with an AirTag, you’ll get a notification on your iPhone informing you of an unknown AirTag that has been travelling with you. You can choose to start Precision Finding to locate it and have it make a noise so it’s easier to discover. That noise will be more pronounced now so the search will be easier.
You don’t need to manually download the update since the new firmware is automatically installed. You can check if you already have it by going to Find My app and checking your AirTag’s firmware version.
