The S85H OLED TV was released this year by Samsung as its cheapest OLED TV. It’s the company’s most basic OLED TV launched in 2026.
It features a very basic design, audio setup, and a two-year-old NQ4 AI Gen2 Processor. It also lacks the glare-free coating seen on higher-end models like the S90H and the S95H. It still gives a very good picture quality as well as perfect inky blacks and infinite contrast ratio.
The company gives the S85H in a variety of sizes as 48-inch, 55-inch, 65-inch, 77-inch, and 83-inch. Reports have it that it uses LG Display’s WRGB OLED panels instead of Samsung Display’s QD-OLED panels. It also varies as it depends on the country or market. Though all of them come with 4K OLED panels with up to a 120Hz variable refresh rate and HDR10+ Advanced.

The TV offers AI Auto Game Mode, AMD FreeSync Premium, Auto Low-Latency Mode (ALLM), HGiG, Nvidia G-Sync, Game Bar, Mini Map Zoom, Samsung Gaming Hub, and Super Ultra Wide Game View, all for gamers.
In terms of audio, the TV offers a basic 20W stereo speaker setup. Though, it supports Dolby Atmos audio on supported audio devices connected to the TV via HDMI or wirelessly. This is when it’s connected to supported Samsung speakers and soundbars.
Also, the S85H supports 360 Audio, Active Voice Amplifier Pro, Adaptive Sound Pro, Object Tracking Sound Lite, and Q-Symphony. It also has farfield microphones to listen for voice commands and advanced audio features like Active Voice Amplifier Pro, Adaptive Sound Pro, and Adaptive Volume.
For connectivity and ports, the S85H has four HDMI 2.1 ports, all capable of up to 4K 120Hz and HDMI CEC, and one with HDMI eARC (HDMI 3). It has two USB 2.0 Type-A ports, one Ethernet port, one optical audio out port, and one cable TV (over-the-air antenna) port. There is Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, AirPlay 2, Google Cast, Smart View, and Multi-View.
Also, it contains a built-in SmartThings Hub that enables you to control your Matter, SmartThings, and Zigbee smart home devices. As regards software and additional features, the TV runs One UI Tizen based on the Tizen OS 10 operating system. The TV has Daily+, Daily Board, and Now Brief. It still comes with Samsung Health, SmartThings, and Samsung Knox (for security). The company has already promised to give Tizen OS updates to the TV for about seven years.
Then, there are other AI-powered features of the TV like Generative Wallpapers and Live Translate. Karaoke Mode allows you to enjoy karaoke with family and friends. Also, Pet Care monitors your pets and gives you notifications when they need your attention. You have the option of choosing to play your pet’s favourite content.
With Storage Share, you can comfortably share content from your Galaxy phone or tablet on the TV. It has this automatic way of detecting any nearby Galaxy devices to share multimedia files between those devices and the TV. With AI Energy Mode, the TV automatically adjusts the display brightness to reduce power consumption.
In the US, the 42-inch variant goes for $1,199.99, while the 83-inch model is $4,499.99. Prices differ, depending on the country or region as well as the availability of offers, discounts, and other factors.
