Upcoming flagship Android phones and tablets are expected to feature chipsets from either Qualcomm or MediaTek. According to the tipster Digital Chat Station, the upcoming flagship SoC from MediaTek will be fabricated on a 2nm process node. Though, there’s no confirmation if it will be TSMC’s N2P or Samsung’s SF2.
However, the flagship is expected to utilise a 2+3+3 all-big core CPU architecture. The focus will be on delivering top-notch single-core performance. It’s believed to rival Apple’s flagship A-series chips. The confirmation of the clock speeds isn’t revealed in the post.
According to DCS, MediaTek will bring improved Compute Matrix Engine (CME) and Scalable Matrix Extension (SME) capabilities. All these will come without any major adjustments to the cache. Then, coming to the GPU, Dimensity 9600 is believed to offer an advantage against competing 2nm chips with native frame interpolation as well as resolution upscaling and enhanced ray-tracing performance.
These first Dimensity 9600-powered devices are likely to unveil at the same period the first batch of Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 phones, which are believed to be coming in September
